OUR ANNUAL EVENT

UNISEL Feskon 2016 - Rugby Challenge Cup

UNISEL RUGBY CHALLENGE CUP

The Unisel Rugby Challenge Cup is an annual rugby match that takes place every November, as part of the Unisel Convocation Festival events (Feskon). This exciting event features two matches, one for the men’s team and one for the girls’ team, with the Unisel Bestari Jaya Marlins Rugby Club taking on their rivals, the Unisel Shah Alam Predators. Hosted by Marlins Rugby Club, the Unisel Rugby Challenge Cup is a highly-anticipated event that brings together students, alumni, and rugby enthusiasts from across the region. With a history of fierce competition and unforgettable moments, this is a match that should not be missed.

CEREMONIAL HAKKA

At Marlins Rugby Club, we hold our alumni in high regard and celebrate their achievements with great pride. As part of this celebration, we perform the ceremonial hakka during convocation ceremonies. This powerful and iconic Maori war dance is a symbol of strength, passion, and unity, and serves as a fitting tribute to our alumni who have excelled both on and off the rugby field. More than just a display of athleticism, the ceremonial hakka is a reminder of the values that we hold dear at Marlins Rugby Club – values such as sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and determination. Through this tradition, we honor our past while looking forward to a bright and exciting future for the Marlins Rugby Club.

RISE TO THE CHALLENGE: THE DAILY GRIND OF MARLIN RUGBY TRAINING

At Marlin, we believe that success on the rugby field is earned through dedication and hard work. That’s why our daily training routine is designed to push our players to their limits and help them reach their full potential. From Monday to Wednesday, training runs from 5.30 pm – 7 pm, while on Thursday and Friday it starts at 5.00 pm and goes until 7.00 pm. Our training sessions are tailored to the semester schedule, with intensity ramping up as we near a tournament. Our programs are varied and challenging, featuring fitness training, gameplay shadows, drills, rugby touch sessions, and more. Both our girls and mens teams train every day, working together to improve their skills, build their strength, and develop their teamwork. So if you’re ready to rise to the challenge and take your rugby game to the next level, come join us at Marlin Rugby Club and experience the daily grind of our training routine.
